| Notes | Adipocyte differentiation-related protein is associated with the globule surface membrane material. This protein is a major constituent of the globule surface. Increase in mRNA levels is one of the earliest indications of adipocyte differentiation Expression of adipophilin is enhanced during trophoblast differentiation and is up-regulated by ligand-activated PPARgamma/retinoid X receptor. May contribute to fatty acid uptake by placenta. GDP-bound ARF1 induces dissociation of ADRP from the Lipid droplet surface. Stimulation of adipophilin expression in macrophages by modified LDL promotes triglyceride & cholesterol storage and reduces cholesterol efflux. Adipophilin might contribute in vivo to lipid accumulation in the intima of the arterial wall. TIP47 and adipophilin are components of many, but not all, the lipid droplets in THP-1 cells. Induction by hypoxia. Targeting of the lipid droplet-binding adipocyte differentiation-related protein. |
