| Owner | Public |
| URN | urn:agi-llid:8648 |
| Connectivity | 108 |
| Notes | The protein encoded by this gene acts as a transcriptional coactivator for steroid and nuclear hormone receptors. It is a member of the p160/steroid receptor coactivator (SRC) family and like other family members has histone acetyltransferase activity and contains a nuclear localization signal, as well as bHLH and PAS domains. The product of this gene binds nuclear receptors directly and stimulates the transcriptional activities in a hormone-dependent fashion. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. |

| State Description | Transcript Variant: This variant (1), also known as SRC1a, encodes the longest isoform (1). |
|---|---|
| Transcript Variant: This variant (2), also known as SRC1e, contains an additional segment in the coding region compared to variant 1. The resulting isoform (2) contains a shorter and distinct C-terminus, compared to isoform 1. | |
| Transcript Variant: This variant (3), also known as SRC(-Q), uses an alternate in-frame splice site in the 3' coding region, compared to variant 1, resulting in a protein (isoform 3) that lacks a single amino acid, compared to isoform 1. |
