The Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor (PPAR) Resource

The Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Resource (PPARR) is the a component of the Nuclear Hormone Receptor Resource (NRR) project. The PPARR is designed to disseminate information about PPAR including cDNA sequences, protein alignments, PPREs, and sources of cDNAs and antibodies. We hope that it will become a central resource for all who have an interest in the various PPARs (and other closely related steroid receptors). The PPARR encourages the submission of data to be included in the resource. As part of the NRR, some resources are shared with other constituents of the project. These include electronic publication, and a listing of scientists interested in the steroid and thyroid hormone superfamily

This NRR project  currently includes the Glucocorticoid Receptor Resource organized by Mark Danielsen, the Mineralocorticoid Receptor Resource organized by David Pearce and the Thyroid Hormone Receptor Resource maintained by David Moore. The Androgen Receptor Mutations Database curated by Dr. Bruce Gottlieb has also joined this project. Eddie Sanchez is also generating a new Steroid Receptor Associated Proteins Resource, which is currently directed toward the complexes formed by the steroid receptors in the absence of ligand.

As indicated by the links below, the PPARR provides a variety of information on PPARs as well as more general information shared with other NHRR sites. It is anticipated that the PPARR will publish general comments, essays and data that members of the scientific community would like to make generally available. Please feel free to submit such items via e-mail using the link below. Additional material (descriptions of new response elements, suggestions for new links, etc.) is also very welcome, and may be submitted by e-mail.
